USAREUR Intelligence Estimate - 1962

1 Jan 1962
Description: This updated USAEUR estimate of Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces suggests that the Soviet leaders do not seek war and that a surprise attack would not occur without a detectable previous build-up. The estimate includes information on the mission of US troops in the theater of operations, weather and climate characteristics in likely combat areas, and terrain features that could determine the enemy's logistical approach and exit routes.
