Associate: The Romanian Institute for Recent History, Bucharest
The Institute (IRIR) is an independent non-governmental organization created in 2000 to study Romanian history since the 1930s. It promotes better understanding of history through the opening of archives, innovative research, publications in print and online, and interaction between scholars and the wider public, thus seeking to contribute to the growth of civil society. It helps connect Romanian historians with the international scholarly community to encourage exchanges, regional, and comparative studies.
