Associate: Modern History Research Center and Archives at Peking University, Beijing
The Modern History Research Center and Archives (MHRCA) was founded in June 1996 to promote research and academic exchange on modern Chinese history and Cold War studies in China. Based at Peking University (Beijing University), MHRCA has established expansive links with scholars and academic institutions both within and outside China.
Currently its major fields of research are the histories of Cold War international relations and post-1949 China. It collects and analyzes archival and oral history material on topics related to these subjects while seeking to facilitate declassification of documents in Chinese central and provincial archives. It organizes conferences and seminars, and publishes research reports, collections of articles, and monographs.
