Description:
This Belgian declaration addresses the Final Report on the Future Tasks of the Alliance that is to be presented at the December meeting. The Belgian declaration states that the final report must take into account the changes in international relations since 1949. The final report must also be in accordance with the 1949 North Atlantic Treaty. The declaration lists the three main issues that the report relates to: i) peace and security in Europe, ii) relations with the Soviet bloc, and iii) problems outside the geographical area of the alliance.
