Report by Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Trade (Ivan Budinov) on the Conditions of Arms Delivery to Angola, Mozambique, Portuguese Guinea, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt

7 Jun 1967
Description: This report by Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Trade Ivan Budinov addresses problems regarding the delivery of weapons and armaments by sea to Arab and African countries. Budinov complains about the reluctance of the Bulgarian state-owned maritime transport company to transport military supplies through the Straits of Gibraltar and the Suez Canal. He argues that there is no reason for this reluctance and warns of negative political consequences. He calls on the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party to resolve this issue.
