Description:
The Secretary-General of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, N.R. Pillai, forwards an aide-mémoire on Indo-Soviet technical cooperation to the Planning Commission which had been handed over to the Soviet authorities by Prime Minister Nehru during his previous visit to the Soviet Union. In it, India asked for Soviet support in the implementation of the Second Five Year Plan, e.g. the training of Indian personnel, the dispatch of Soviet experts and the delivery of technical equipment. Also attached is the Soviet response which promises extensive support in all fields. Collection: The View from India
