Future Tasks of the Alliance: Study of the Issues (DPA(67)218)

20 Oct 1967
Description: This study by NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Joachim Jaenicke addresses the resumé of the reports on the future tasks of the alliance. According to Jaenicke, the resumé provides a possible basis of agreement among the 15 NATO countries and seems a negotiable document. Furthermore, Jaenicke lists the paragraphs that are not acceptable to France. He assesses the substantive paragraphs of the resumé, mentioning where a general agreement can be reached and where not.
