Description:
This report on the 1978 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Moscow summarizes the main topics of its agenda: (i) the state of disarmament and next steps in the European détente process, (ii) a report on the activity of the Unified Command and the leadership organs of the UAF, and (iii) an additional assessment of the international political scene. A declaration on the first topic was adopted and published in the press, but the Polish support for Vietnam was not mentioned in the declaration. The report further describes the divergent Romanian positions in questions of international politics and disarmament, its doubts concerning the report of the supreme commander of the UAF, and the subsequent refusal to sign the meeting's protocol.
