Proposals by the West German Delegation to US Draft

Description: This document contains proposals from the West German delegation for certain amendments to the US draft on the Future of the Alliance by Sub-Group 3. The West German delegation recommends that Sub-Group 3 examine the significance of continuing integrated defense efforts on the one hand, and armaments control measures on the other hand, for the security of the alliance. Appended to the document is a draft of the modified outline, which includes such issues as the evolution of the collective and regional security of the West and the interrelationship between deterrence, defense technology, armaments control, and détente.
