Cable on NATO Ministerial Meeting Session

Description: This December 1965 telegram from the US embassy in Paris to the State Department in Washington, D.C., contains an intelligence estimate of Soviet defense efforts. Issues discussed here include Soviet air defense capabilities, including the possible establishment of an ABM system to protect major Soviet cities, as well as new developments in the area of ICBMs, intermediate and medium-range missiles, and orbital missiles. Political and military developments within NATO are also discussed.
