The First PHP Workshop Held
1 October 1999, Graz, Austria
The first PHP workshop was held on 1 October 1999 in Graz, Austria. Rapporteurs from former Warsaw Pact countries - Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria - as well as from Germany and Finland, reported about the availability of documents in their respective archives and about the steps to be taken to achieve their declassification. After reviewing the PHP's ongoing programs, the participants established its priorities, with an emphasis on promoting the declassification of still inaccessible documents, facilitating the publication of new sources in print and on website, and expanding the Project activity in Western Europe.
