Description: This is a memorandum for a meeting between East German Defense Minister Heinz Hoffmann and Soviet Defense Minister Dmitry Ustinov. The document contains remarks on the political and economic situation in East Germany as well as on East German relations with West Germany. The memorandum also addresses: i) possible locations for the stationing of new missile systems on the territory of East Germany, ii) the protection of the intra-German border, and iii) the supply of Soviet military equipment to the East German National People's Army.
