Transcript of Meeting Between Politburo Members (Georgy Malenkov, Mikhail Suslov) and Communist Party India (CPI) Delegation

21 Feb 1951
Description: This is the transcript of a meeting between Politburo members Georgy Malenkov and Mikhail Suslov and representatives of Central Committee (CC) of the Communist Party of India (CPI), discussing organizational matters. The CPI representatives are particularly interested in advice on postponing their party congress, the composition of the CPI CC, the election of party bodies and maintaining regular contact with the Soviet Communist Party. In response, Malenkov stresses the importance of drafting a program for the CPI that will function as a unifying factor for the party. He also offers stronger – though clandestine – Soviet support to the Indians.
