Description:
These are the minutes of the 12th session of the Warsaw Pact's (WP) Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Warsaw in 1979. The minutes list the participants, questions discussed, and decisions taken. Issues include the support of a Soviet peace initiative, basic principles for the WP's United Armed Forces in wartime and for WP military aid to developing countries, the establishment of an integrated early warning system for nuclear strikes, and the use of civilian companies for military repairs in wartime.
