Report on the Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers (without Romania)

Description: This memorandum summarizes the results of discussions among the Warsaw Pact deputy foreign ministers on the forthcoming US presidential elections and other political issues concerning the US. The ministers met in Bulgaria in September 1988. The participants at the meeting introduce their opinions on the prospective results of the US presidential elections and outline the state of their countries' relations with the US, which differ considerably. The Soviet representative provides information on Soviet-US disarmament talks in Geneva.
