Conversation with Gen. Wojciech Jaruzelski

Record of Investigator's Conversation with Jaruzelski

26 Sep 2002
Description: This is a record of a conversation with former Polish General Wojciech Jaruzelski at the Swedish embassy in Warsaw. He outlines operational planning within the Warsaw Pact and the role of Poland in the European theater of war, and states that Poland did not have access to Soviet plans that extended beyond the joint Warsaw Pact planning. He gives special attention to Polish-Swedish relations and assesses them positively. He also comments on important events during the Cold War, such as the Prague Spring of 1968 and the Solidarity movement that took root in Poland in the 1980s.
