On the Military-Technical Aspect of the WP Members' Military Doctrine (Presentation)

24 Nov 1987
Description: This is a report on the military-technical implications of the Warsaw Pact's (WP) new defensive military doctrine. East German Defense Minister Heinz Kessler presented this report during the 20th session of the WP Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in Bucharest in 1987. Kessler analyzes current NATO and WP military policy. He says that East Germany will enhance the qualitative potential of its army, but not its size. He comments critically on cooperation within the WP. He stresses that East Germany will stick to the principles of Socialism.
