Declaration Concerning Lasting Peace and Security in the Near East

2 Dec 1970
Description: This declaration of the Warsaw Pact signatories (signed at the December 1970 meeting of the Political Consultative Committee, or PCC, in Berlin) outlines the opposing policies of Warsaw Pact and NATO countries regarding the Near East question and accuses the US and other NATO members of imposing policy in this region through force and by hampering national liberation movements. This declaration expresses the readiness of the participants to continue to support Arab states and Palestine in the name of freedom and social progress.
