Note on a Conversation Between the Soviet First Deputy Premier (Alexsei Kosygin) and the Indian Prime Minister (Jawaharlal Nehru)

Description: This document gives an account of a conversation on economic policies and international affairs between Soviet First Deputy Premier Kosygin and Prime Minister Nehru. Nehru inquires about the progress of the Soviet Seven-Year-Plan. The main part of the conversation refers to developments in Congo. Kosygin condemns the United Nations in general and Secretary-General Hammarskjöld in particular for deserting the legitimate Congolese government. With respect to the Laos crisis, both countries desire the reconvention of the International Control Commission.
