Opinion of East Germany

24 Nov 1987
Description: This East German document addresses the education and training of its armed forces against the background of the newly adopted defensive military doctrine of the Warsaw Pact (WP). The presentation was delivered during the 20th session of the WP's Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in Bucharest in 1987. East Germany lauds the recent disarmament agreements as a success of Socialist policy. Next, the authors discuss the military training of the East German National People's Army. The last part reviews the presence of East German inspectors at a West German maneuver under the provisions of the Stockholm Document on Confidence-Building Measures.
