Speech by the Czechoslovak Foreign Minister (Bohuslav Chňoupek)

Description: This is the transcript of a speech given by Czechoslovak Foreign Minister Bohuslav Chňoupek at the 1983 meeting of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) in Prague. In order to advance the CSCE process, he proposes a continued dialog with the West and offers concrete plans to increase the impact of Socialist thinking on Western governments, political parties, and civil society. He also suggests concrete steps for the abolition of chemical weapons and emphasizes the importance of an international treaty to create a nuclear-free zone in Europe.
