The Mazowsze Exercise: Preparing for Nuclear War

23 Apr 1963
Description: This document describes a Polish military exercise in April 1963 simulating war with weapons of mass destruction in order to estimate the destructiveness of such a conflict. Among other things, the study describes the nuclear counterstrikes of the Soviet Bloc and estimates the civilian casualties, loss of military material, and the destruction of Polish cities. The document also assumes that the Soviet missiles will be able to reach the US.
