Description: This document contains information about the Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Berlin, where party leaders of Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, the Soviet Union, and Romania discussed relations with West Germany. All participating party leaders agree that the normalization of the situation in Europe depends on the recognition of East Germany and on a resolution of the status of West Berlin. Among other topics discussed are preparations for the conference on security cooperation in Europe, the situation in Vietnam, the interference of Western countries in Africa, and the situation in the Middle East.
