Information on Czechoslovak Proposals before the Moscow Political Consultative Committee Meeting

Subject: Proposal of the ČSFR Delegation

Description: This proposal, delivered by the Czechoslovak delegation to the June 1990 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting regarding the reorganization of the Warsaw Pact United Armed Forces (UAF) and the Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) stresses the following points: (i) the preservation of the National Armed Forces within the UAF, (ii) the fulfillment of obligations of the UAF exclusively through the defense of the national territories, and (iii) the transformation of the UAF into a coordinating group with the purpose of preparing Warsaw Pact committee meetings.
