Decision on the First Agenda Item (Draft)

Description: This is a draft decision on the state and development of the Warsaw Pact (WP) air defense forces, as discussed at the tenth session of the Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Budapest in 1977. The draft assesses that the unified WP air defense system complies in general with the modern requirements. Nevertheless, problems are identified, including insufficient air protection of important installations, the lack of integration in airspace border surveillance, and old technical equipment. Remedies are discussed and voted on.
