Summary of Arbitrator's Reports on a June 1965 Warsaw Pact Military Exercise

Jun 1965
Description: This set of documents comprises eight reports on a June 1965 Warsaw Pact maneuver. The first report remarks that the reconnaissance division was not well prepared in terms of Russian language capabilities. The second report explains that the main strength of the communication division was its know-how regarding the new communication technology. The third report addresses problems of troop mobilization, whereas the fourth and fifth report refer to improvements of the missile, artillery, and air defense forces. The last three reports comment on the technical preparation of the maneuvers, the improvements in evaluating radioactive fallout, and the role of the armored and motor vehicle technical service during the wargame, among other issues.
