This document is a report on the meeting of the Warsaw Pact (WP) deputy foreign ministers on 11 July 1989 in Minsk. According to the report, the aim of the meeting was to prepare for the 44th UN General Assembly. Other topics discussed by the WP ministers and reviewed here include: (i) the conflicts in Afghanistan and the Middle East, and the UN's involvement in conflict resolution, (ii) disarmament and international security issues, and (iii) humanitarian and human rights issues.
