East German Analysis of NATO's "Fallex 66" Exercise

1967
Description: This report by the East German Ministry of Defense analyzes NATO's military exercise "Fallex 66". According to the report, NATO's high command prepared for three types of war during the exercise: covert war, limited war, and nuclear war. The report states that the strategy of flexible response has been further developed and remains the official NATO strategy. The East German Ministry of Defense assesses NATO's military doctrine as offensive in nature, and states that the course of the military exercise is evidence of NATO's aggressive intents.
