Trends in Military-Technical Collaboration Among WP Members' Armed Forces in the Context of Arms Reductions

27 Nov 1989
Description: This summary presents key elements of a report on military-technical cooperation among Warsaw Pact (WP) members against the background of extensive disarmament steps. The report is presented during the 24th session of the WP's Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in Budapest in 1989. Due to the imminent political changes, planning in the field of research and development has to be delayed. A number of negative factors that hamper cooperation in research and development in the WP are discussed. Furthermore, remedial measures are suggested.
