Instruction No. 8/55

2 Mar 1955
Description: This document, issued by the East German Ministry of Internal Affairs, contains instructions for the intelligence agency Staatssicherheit (Stasi) on restraining the espionage activities of the Military Liaison Missions (MLM). The US, British, and French MLM are said to conduct military, economic, and political espionage not only against East Germany, but also against the Soviet Union. They also maintain contacts to East German citizens, and therefore the Stasi must monitor their activities carefully.
