Report on the Longterm Concept forScientific and Technological Cooperation GDR/India

1 Oct 1984
Description: This report outlines a long-term concept for future scientific and technological cooperation between the GDR and India. It stresses the importance of India as the developing country with the greatest scientific-technological potential and the opportunities deriving from the state-centred development strategy implemented by India's government. At the same time, the report gives a sceptical overview over the existing difficulties experienced by India in its attempts to become autark in the technological sphere and its ongoing dependence from the West. Summarizing the situation, the report recommends the intensification of collaboration with India in a number of sectors.
