Note on the Visit of the Egyptian President (Gamal Abdel Nasser) to Moscow

24 Jul 1968
Description: This note, translated from Russian, informs Moscow's allies about the recent visit of Egyptian President Nasser to the Soviet Union. Nasser informs his hosts about his intention to unite all Arab countries in the struggle against Israel, irrespective of their political and economic systems. Diverging interests of the Arab countries, however, have made this objective so far unachievable. Given the Israeli position on the main issues, Nasser is skeptical regarding a peaceful solution. He also comments on the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and pro-Chinese groups in the Middle East.
