Speech by Soviet Minister of Defense (Andrei Grechko): State and Plans of the Aggressive NATO Bloc

22 Dec 1969
Description: This is a summary of reports by Soviet Minister of Defense Andrei Grechko and Supreme Commander of the Unified Armed Forces Ivan Iakubovskii. Grechko and Iakubovskii review the state and plans of NATO and the further development of the Warsaw Pact Unified Command's land and tactical air forces, respectively. They perceive an increase in power and importance of the Eastern alliance, and a trend towards a unification of forces in the West. The reports were presented during the first session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers in Moscow 1969.
