Report on the Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers

Description: This is a report on the discussions on the occasion of a Warsaw Pact deputy foreign ministers meeting in Warsaw 1986 addressing an upcoming CSCE follow-up session in Vienna. The ministers discuss the international situation and their negotiation tactics for the Vienna conference. All three baskets of the CSCE are addressed, with special attention given to the principles of inter-state relations based on sovereignty. The participants prepare to refute Western accusations in the field of human and minority rights and reiterate their destinct approach in this field. However, all deputy foreign ministers stress the importance of improving economic relations with the West.
