Report by the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Petûr Toshev Mladenov) to the Politburo of the CC of the BCP

Description: In this report to the CC of the Bulgarian Communist Party, Foreign Minister Petûr Mladenov informs his colleagues about the proceedings of the 1980 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Warsaw. The topics he covers in his report are: (i) the evaluation of the Warsaw Pact's contribution to peace and security in Europe at its 25th anniversary, (ii) a critique of US foreign policy, (iii) China's military and political collaboration with the US and NATO in general, (iv) a forthcoming multilateral conference of world leaders in Madrid, (v) the situation in Southeast Asia, Afghanistan, and the Middle East, and (vi) Romania's dissenting position within the alliance.
