Warsaw Pact Views of NATO's Plans and Capabilities

Description: This is a 1960 document on Warsaw Pact and NATO military capabilities. It assumes that an offensive strategy including the use of weapons of mass destruction will lead to a rapid cessation of any war between NATO and Warsaw Pact forces. NATO forces will attack if Warsaw Pact forces do not maintain a high level of defense readiness. The document also includes assumptions on the first and crucial days of warfare and NATO plans for use of nuclear weapons.
