Description:
This report by East German Minister of Defense Heinz Hoffmann informs Erich Honecker, the head of state, about the eighth session of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Prague in 1975. The CDM discussed the use of helicopters in combat, the automation of command-and-control systems, and the work of the WP United Armed Forces (UAF) staff from 1969-75. After the session, Czechoslovak leader Gustáv Husák briefs the CDM on the domestic and foreign policies of Czechoslovakia.
