Description:
This memorandum is a contribution of the Belgian Delegation to NATO to the council's discussion on the Resolution on Future Tasks of the Alliance. It specifies the aim of the intended study, namely, to reaffirm the commitment of the NATO member states to the organization. To achieve this objective, the paper proposes to assess the working methods of the permanent representatives. Furthermore, it suggests establishing a special committee that would be tasked with examining the impact of the major developments on the alliance since its inception and its contemporary political role.
