Description: This document contains the closing remarks of East German Defense Minister Heinz Hoffmann at the conclusion of the extraordinary session of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Committee of Ministers of Defense in East Berlin in 1983. The participants at the meeting have decided to deploy nuclear weapons to the European part of the Soviet Union and to WP countries in the case that NATO should deploy intermediate-range nuclear weapons in Western Europe.
