Letter from Central Committees of the Communist Parties of Bulgaria, Hungary, East Germany, Poland, Romania, the Soviet Union, and Czechoslovakia to Central Committees of the Communist Parties of China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Mongolia31 Oct 1961 |
||
Description:
In this letter, the CCs of the Communist Parties of Bulgaria, Hungary, East Germany, Poland, the USSR, Romania, and Czechoslovakia express their concern to the CCs of the Communist Parties of China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Mongolia that representatives of the Asian Communist parties acting as observers at the Warsaw Pact Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meetings are not always representatives of the highest level and do not always fully and accurately convey the proceedings of those meetings to their CCs at home. As a result, the Warsaw Pact member states suggest that if the Asian representatives are not of the highest political level, they should not attend at all; rather, information should be passed on directly to the governments of the respective countries.
