Foreign Ministry Memorandum to the HSWP Political Committee on Hungarian-Soviet Consultations on the European Security Conference

Description: This memorandum of the Hungarian foreign ministry records the informal talks between Hungarian Deputy Foreign Minister Károly Erdélyi and his Soviet counterpart Vladimir Semyonov. Among the topics discussed are: (i) the progress of European peace and security and the points of view of various Western European countries, (ii) the agenda of the peace and security conference, and (iii) general evaluation of the international arena. Erdélyi recommends that Hungary back the Soviet proposals for the peace and security conference at the meeting of the foreign ministers in Prague.
