Note on the Conclusions of the Meeting of Warsaw Pact Chiefs of Staff in Prague

Mar 1968
Description: This note comments on the decisions taken during the recently held meeting of the Warsaw Pact Chiefs of Staff in Prague (February 29-March 1 1968). In Prague, the long-discussed question of institutional re-organization has been decided in favor of the establishment of new organs, albeit with confined competencies (Military Council and a Committee on Technology). Romanian proposals regarding alternative procedures for the working of the Military Council have been rejected.
