Description:
These three presentations address NATO's military doctrine and armament policies. They were introduced during the 17th session of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Defense in Budapest in 1984. The first presentation, delivered by a Soviet representative, assesses NATO's level of combat-readiness in the Western and Southwestern European theaters of war as high. The East German and Hungarian representatives also refer to the roles of West Germany and Italy in NATO's war plans.
