Letter from Former West German Chancellor (Willy Brandt)

Description: In this letter, former West German Chancellor Willy Brandt explains the position of the Social Democrats towards the recent events in Poland. According to Brandt, the SPD was trying to adopt a balanced position which was criticised in the West. He encourages the Polish leadership to find a way out of the crisis in accordance with the principles laid down in the Helsinki Final Act.
