Description:
In this chapter of his memoirs, the former Czechoslovak minister of defense, General Miroslav Vacek, addresses some questions raised in the interviews with generals of the Czechoslovak People's Army. He describes military exercises in the 1970s and 1980s and confirms that there were nuclear depots on Czechoslovak territory from 1969 onwards. General Vacek also gives an overview of Czechoslovak defense readiness in that period. He further states that work on a Czechoslovak military doctrine, which was never completed, began in 1987.
