Protocol No. 008

17 Nov 1975
Description: These are the minutes of the eighth session of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Prague in 1975. The document includes a list of participants, questions discussed, and decisions taken. Among the topics are the use of helicopters in combat, automated command-and-control systems, and the work of the WP's United Armed Forces (UAF) staff from 1969-75. The report identifies problems with the introduction and use of rotary-wing aircraft and in establishing an automated command-and-control system. Automation is of great importance for all of the WP armies, the report concludes.
