Description: This is the transcript of a speech given by Bulgarian leader Todor Zhivkov at the 1989 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Bucharest. He assesses cooperation with Western Europe with regard to securing the Socialist political system. He also underlines the necessity for intensive economic cooperation between the Warsaw Pact signatories. Zhivkov concludes with a discussion of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Turkey.
