Description:
These are the minutes of the fifth session of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Warsaw in 1973. The minutes include a list of participants and summarize the questions discussed and decisions taken at the meeting. Among the latter were Western propaganda directed at WP forces and measures against it, information on the work and results of the WP Unified Armed Forces technical committee, and details on NATO exercises in 1972. It is assessed that the equipment of the WP forces is generally adequate. The role of the technical committee in the field of technological research needs clarification.
