Description: This document is a transcript of a speech by the Polish First Secretary of the PZPR Gierek at the July 1973 Crimea meeting. Gierek praises the achievements of the socialist countries and points to the important role of the USSR in fostering the European peace process and in mainting security in Europe. He pleades for peaceful cooperation and security in Europe and guarantees Polish support for the détente policy of the socialist countries. Gierek unterlines the importance of German-Polish relations in this process.
