Report to the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party Political Committee on the Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers [and on the Meeting of the Deputy Ministers of Defense in Moscow]

10 Feb 1966
Description: This report to the Political Committee of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party records the discussions of two different meetings: that of the deputy ministers of foreign affairs in East Berlin, and that of the deputy defense ministers in Moscow. No conclusion was reached at either meeting due to Romanian opposition. The Romanian delegates refused to support proposals made by Moscow, such as the establishment of a permanent committee of foreign affairs or a restructuring of the United Armed Forces (UAF).
